my guess is some people just get tired of having to work on their cars, some people just wanna move on to something different/better. The life of a dsmer is long and hard. Fights with the girlfriend/wife because she says you spend more time on the car then on her. Kids , the need for a family car , the dsm is not family friendly, thats why I got the vr4 :) . Most of the first generation of dsmers has moved on to bigger things like supars, evos, v-8's be it new school or old school, etc, etc. The second generation has gotten a batch of used and abused cars and most of them just keep abusing them, then they cry when their stock block 180K mile engine takes a shit when they where boosting over 20psi on a 16g on pis gas 91. so they junk em, or part them out. Thats why you see less and less 1g's around, 2g's are still plentyfull but very difficult to find a specimen that hasn't been beaten on or riced out. My plan is to get the wife a minivan, keep the galant for me as a DD, and have the 1g for a time attack car/weekend without the kids car. I love my dsm and probably wont get rid of it unless it gets totaled or something. We are becoming a rare breed the dsmer, but If some of us can manage to keep a few of these cars around a little bit longer , I think we can see a day when you see a dsm and it'll bring a tear to that 60-70 year old man who recalls feeling an AWD boosted launch for the very first time.
Of course this is just my opinion.

Zip ties have a purpose. They're to tie wires up. Not to hold the car together... Sooo... yea, that's why my car's still sitting at home... can't afford to get good parts all at once, and I'm not buying crap for it...

will i thought it was because most of us all live in the fun state of california where cops love to pull over import cars an give them tickets for having shinning things that doesn't have CARB numbers on them...that an like the post before me said..it's an car that needs your time more than anything thing else...sometime you have to choose rather it's work or fixing your car not to mention most of the turbo cars is hitting 10+ years so it's getting harder an harder to finds parts an still keep it at an decent price...and with newer faster cars hitting the market at prices that people can now afford but then again this is just my view....
