    Default what happens when....

A shop forgets to latch the hood pins...

All I was doing was going to the shop to have them put the spacer back between the half shaft and block that they forgot (no AC). Different guy shut the hood and pulled it around than the guy who opened the hood. Apparently didn't notice the hood pins, hood flies up at 75mph smashing the windshield and caving in the roof a good 4-5". Their insurance should be taking care of it but I have a feeling I won't be seeing this car again. :(

Sorry to hear about what happened. Hope the insurance process goes through quickly and you can get your car back on the road again.

glad you're ok man. hopefully you won't have to part with you're car, it would seem like a waste of a good car if you did.

If they try to total it I want to buy it back and part it out. Not sure if I'd get another DSM or not. Only problem is that I don't have a place to store the car to part it out if ti comes to that.

When I bought the car about a year ago it had the hood pins and no stock hood latch. Usually no one touches my car but me so I never thought to double check to make sure they latched them after they worked on it.

That's the very reason I refused to get rid of my stock latch.. The hood pins are just extra security..

That sucks man, sorry to hear. I hope the shop or their insurance don't give you a hard time about it.
