Default Is it possible for the diag port to go bad?

Pretty much a newbish question, but what can I say, I have exhuasted all options.

I thought my logger cable was bad so I bought another one and after waiting over a month for it (long story) it gets here and after hooking it upto my Handspring Visor logger it still wont long sh*t.

Still gives me that BS "check connection" message that I've gotten since I tried to put this thing on months ago.

Pretty much the only thing I can think is either that palm is too old (altough Brandons brnad new Clique' PDA I borrowed also wouldn't log.. *but that was with my old cable I thought was bad..) I tried to DL MMCD but it says I need palmOS 3.5 or better and I have the DSM logger software now and its registered so I don't know the deal.

Any advice? BTW I'm logging on a non eprom ECU if that matters.

Oh and manny did you ever find my black palm from a while ago? I think the palm may be and issue and I'd love to solve this once and for all. Oh yeah and you still doin the chips? (So many question so little time hahaha..)

Yeah, it's very possible. Usually a wire that's been messed with before comes loose again. I remember a member here having to back track all of the wires from the com port... might have been Manny and that car. I don't remember. I'd go to a meet and have someone with a known working logger give it a try first. Or try your logger on another car.

why don't you solder the connections to the wires behind where the diagnostic port is?

The diagnostic port comes off of the fuse block.

I would recommend that you do that first. That would eliminate the connection as being bad.
    BIG PLANS.....STAY TUNED.....
