Default My fun for the last week...

I spent hours installing a billet grille on my new truck last Tuesday night. It looked outstanding. Wednesday night I smashed the front of the truck :( A kid ran into traffic without looking, mid block and I NAILED him. 15 yr old chubby kid. I hit him going about 20mph with a 5,500 lb truck and he got up and walked away. Actually, he literally walked away and took off. I had to hunt him down.

He was running and cut between two lanes of traffic that were already stopped at a signal. He only made it about two steps out into the 3rd lane and I hit him so fast, I didn't even have time to cover the brake pedal with my foot. The witnesses say he flew like 10 feet and I came to a stop with the front of my truck over the top of him. They said the other two lanes of traffic moving at 40mph would have most likely killed him.

So the parents are uncooperative and the dad is just a straight ahole. I'm going to small claims, which will be an experience I can't imagine being fun at all but I've always been curious about it. A $24 court fee is better than a $500 deductible and the accident on my loss report and accident report. I've been researching like crazy and you can REALLY mess someone?s life up if they don't pay after judgment is passed. I talked to the witnesses today and the officers report of what the kid told him makes it a no brainer, there's no question about whether I'll win or not. I've got the pedestrian right of way law on my side and everyone?s stories (even the kid haha) lead to the parents coughing up the $1500 for a new hood. I'm pissed about the whole thing and the damage to my 2007 truck but it happened and is in the past. The process now will be interesting and I'm almost excited about it because I know there's little chance that I don't receive judgment in my favor.

Damn sorry to hear lee. To your new toy too! Ugh. Well at least you got him back good, very few stories of hit and runs end that sweet.

They have a sale at McDonalds or something and he made a run for it? Weird. So did the grill get jacked up also?

There's a little crack on the grille shell on the inside that won't effect anything... but I had it included in the estimate hahahaha. New exhaust, bull bar, nerf bars, and took box coming soon :D
