A JDM gimic is the probably the last thing I'd speand 55k on. I can't believe people pay that much for those things.

The inflated price because it's JDM only makes it a gimic in my mind. Don't get me wrong, it's a sick ass car. But I wouldn't pay $55,000 for a non-luxary, non-exotic car made in the mid 90s. I don't think I should be spilling this blasphemy on a car forum though :P

I see what you mean. Yeah its not a luxurious sports car. Don't forget those that paid 40k for an evo though when it hit the US shores. Also a nice car but marked way up just from the dealer. Skylines are expensive and converting them for US use ain't cheap.Originally Posted by 98spydert

Yeah, same reason I didn't wait for the new body style Silverado when I bought my new truck a few weeks ago. I would have paid $15,000+ more for essentially the same thing but a little better since a lot of it's revised. And not $15k better either. Mark ups because of hype like that just seem like the biggest waste of money in my mind. Lots of people don't mind paying it though, I remember when I was shopping for the then new 300C and the mark up was $7-10k yet they couldn't keep them on the lot. That mark up does hell for resale and getting financed. I guess rich people don't mind.
I'd love to take that thing for a few laps though. The GT-R destroyed Porsche's 959 and 944, set records, and won damn near everything it entered for almost 10 years. Pretty impressive for a mass production sports car. Too bad it's predecessor (G35) isn't what they used to be.

I wouldn't pay $35K for that car. It's almost 10 years old and has a boat load of miles on it for crying out loud.Originally Posted by ryostyle_the_?akuza

yeah seriously just go get a vette instead. I'd rather have C5 Z06, and spend the difference in price on mods for that car. you can get those with 30k or less miles for about 30 thousand now...and 25 thousand in mods to that car would make it even sweeter.
not that i dont like that way R33's and R34's look though. There's just better options.

FULL RACE just made a kit for s13's and s14's to swap all the gtr engine, drivetrain, suspension and brakes without have to weld anything or cut anything. it's a bold in kit. that wouldn't be a bad car to cruise, an awd s14. they call it the R14, here's a link.
