Default Never let someone else sell your car for you!!!!!!! (Pics)

A friend of mine jsut bought a g-35 coupe and decided it was time to sell his 2g.. Long story short.. He got a hit off of craigslist.. He was out of town so he had his dad take care of the transaction for him.. The punk kid who bought it drove off.. Then decided to play with the boost controller and see what would happen if he turned the boost up all the way.. (After being carefully told over the phone by my friend not to exceed X amount of boost).. And the pictures below are the result.. The kid went back to my friends dad.. Demanded his money back stating that the car was obviously already broken somehow (as it blew up only a couple of blocks away from where he bought it.. Not knowing any better.. My friends dad took the car back and gave the kid his money back.. Nice... Here is the carnage..

Its always fun to see trashed 7 bolt internals.. heheh

Ahh kids and boosted cars, the great stories :) Well I doubt it'll hold any water in court if they shook on it and the transaction already took place. You buy a lemon, your stuck with a lemon (even if its the case or not). All the father needs to do, if he takes it to court, is have some shop write out cause of damage. A statement from the mechanic (or anyone with half a brain) can tell that FORGED rods just don't bend like that. Halarious, but sucks for your friend.

even if you put as is, they can still return the car. the as is thing doesn't work anymore thanks to all the russians glueing cars together with bondo. legeally the buyer has 3 days to return the car if it has problems.

Damn really? When did that crap happen? It's been "as is/ no cooling off period" for as long as I can remember in CA.

    still is.

should have taken pictures and video of the car before he sold it. showing it in proper running condition the day of before the guys got there to buy it. proves that the car was running perfect.

Hmm, Turbocooker do you have any proof of that 3 day return state law? I've never heard of that in any state.

When I purchased the 4Runner I signed a paper saying I had 3 days to return it..I found this online...

Isn't there a three-day "cooling off" period on car purchases?

No. Once you sign an automobile sales contract, you're legally bound by all its terms and conditions.
The contract can only be canceled if the dealership permits it, or if there is legal ground for it, such
    as fraud.
In fact, California state law requires the following statement to be printed on each retail
sales contract and lease, and to be posted in each sales cubicle:

NO COOLING OFF PERIOD. California law does not provide for a "cooling off" or other cancellation period for
vehicle lease or purchase contracts. Therefore, you cannot later cancel such a contract simply because you
change your mind, decide the vehicle costs too much, or wish you had acquired a different vehicle.
After you sign a motor vehicle purchase or lease contract, it may only be canceled with the agreement
of the seller or lessor or for legal cause, such as fraud.
