Thread: They should do this at Sac Raceway

They open up the raceway here in Spokane on friday night at 8pm to let people grudge race. It's $5 to get in and no more to race and they just let you use the track all night to keep kids from organizing illegal street racing. I went for the first time last night and it was actually pretty fun. There were stock cars and trucks, the typical 15sec Hondas, some moderately tuned stuff, and quite a few 9 and 10 second cars. An A/C Cobra was running mid 9s, trapping over 150, and stomping the bikes that stepped up. Crazy. I was surprised it wasn't just all highschool kids in sloooow cars.

I raced 3 times later in the night. I turned down the boost to 19psi and logged 10.5:1 AFR and 18.x* peak timing and was trapping 106. I'm going to try a test and tune on a Saturday and get this thing back to where it should be. I just got into line and raced whoever was in front or behind me without a race lined up so I ended up with 3 poorly matched races. 1st was a super tricked out Integra that grabbed about 3 cars off the line when I spun the tires but I ened up a full second ahead of him at the end. 2nd was a Buick something. He wanted a head start so I let him go and reeled him in by the end. 3rd was a T-28 GS-T running 17psi. I dropped the 2 stage too low and launched at 3500rpm which gave me a nice bog, then crazy wheel spin. He hooked up perfectly for the first time all night and I was only about a quarter of a car ahead at the end but what seemed like 20mph faster.

Very fun! At only $5 it keeps kids from gathering around town and killing themselves on the street. Probably the funniest thing was some wankster with a 95 civic coup w/ a B20 swap who came up and said I was trying to race him on the main road here last week. He had a bit of an attitude said he heard my blow off valve therefore I was trying to race him... :roll: He asked if I would race on the next run and I agreed. I was already in line and he watched me beat the Integra badly and when I came back and found him parked off to the side, he refused to race. Silly kids. THere's my fun for the night!

There would be a million little korean gangsters out at Sac shooting at each other over a $20 race between two 20 second CRX's

Exactly.. Ill stick to the weekends.. I dont care if i have to pay 50 bucks to run.. Ill spend the extra 45 bux just to NOT have to deal with the Honduh's

id rather pay 35 bucks on a saturday night to do almost infinite runs cause theres only 40 real cars there maximum, than cheaper and have 200 cars that suck. we went a few weekends ago to test n tune, and we were just casually running(unlike the few that just ran, then right back into the staging lanes and ran again all night), and we got 12 runs in before getting bored.

there are no ricers there saturday night. there are dozens of big block/muscle cars actually putting down respectable times. theres a dozen or more street cars. you could just keep going around and around till you get bored. at most theres a 2 car deep wait at the staging area.

i could car less if the ricers are out wrapping themselves around the trees. Dawrinism at its greatest.
