Default WRX, Evo IX, or 325xi?

WRX would be of the none STI variety. Evo would be of the IX variaty, not the MR. 325xi would most likey be a year old. I'm trying to keep it sub $30k so the 325xi and new IX are pushnig it but I'd keep them for a long time for sure.

Finally starting to narrow down the choices, what would you do and why?

haha true, I'm talking to a biased group here! The Evo wouldn't be modded.... haha yeah right. Ok lightly modded, but nothing like Kachs beast or anything. I guess that's a factor for some people. The evo is sick no matter what though :P

My vote is on the 325xi. I would only get the Evo to replace the GS-T. And if it's a WRX you're getting instead of the STi, it's probably not worth it unless you plan on modifying it. In which case, I would again get it to replace the GS-T. With a soon-to-be awd Spyder, my vote is on the 325xi simply for class. People who aren't into cars generally don't think you're made out of money when they see a 25+yr old guy in an Eclipse or STi. Even if you do put a billion dollars into it. They just see a 4-door saloon car with a shoe rack in the back. They just think Fast & Furious. BMW usually gets everyone's respect in my opinion. Classy. Sporty. And won't break down on you the first few miles. But thats just me :)

bimmer for the win if its just going to be the family car. i second manny's opinion for its class. some decent rims and lowering springs will make any bmw look mean anyway.

evo all the way. i've never liked german products and dont think i ever will. i will admit that they can be made to look very nice. as for reliable? i'll take a japanese product over german anyday. not to mention i will never buy the first model of any car ever again. they ALWAYS have bugs that need to be worked out.

    MIVEC
twin-scroll 16g with a 10.5 hotside and a larger compressor cover than the Evo VIII
more coolant passages to the head
    improved wastegate
Active diff (oh yea... it works great!)
    and front LSD

id personally go with the BMW out of those 3. Seems lately that EVERYONE and their mom has either and EVO or a WRX of sometyp... not that i would mind owing an EVO...

BMW is more practical than the other 2 with keeping the GST.
