Default my sis got pulled over by the folsom pd

so yea, she was pulled over in the gsx today. this is the ticket.

    FRONT

    BACK

i was wondering if any of you knew if the smog referee will check ONLY the exhaust since its the "correctable violation" listed on the back. or if they'll check the smog equipment too since that was also listed as a violation on the front.

what "smog equipment" does it refer to?
the ref is going to smog the car.

search for my post in regards to exhausts in CA. he can't pull you over for that.

the ref will smog it even though it requires a ref only for the exhaust violation (as stated on the back)?

i acutally printed out the pdf file in your post about modified exhausts and read it quite thoroughly, but its my understanding that the cop can give you a violation if he/she has listened to the exhaust while the car is running. "Drivers of vehicles should not be cited for violation of either Section 27150 or 27151 VC unless the officer has personally listened to the vehicle in operation. This can be either under actual driving conditions or with the vehicle stationary and the engine running."

not to get off topic though, i simply want to know if the ref will read the ticket and ONLY perform the decibel test.

depends on the ref and what smog devices he's talking about.
as far as the exhaust goes, the ref will do the decible test, and if it's under a certain dB, it'll pass and no need to do anything else except show the judge and he'll let you go.

You can wait to get the invoice in the mail which will give you the option to pay out of that ticket. I got a non correctable violation for having a 1g bov cuz the officer didn't think they came with bov's....right. Anyway it was about 300 bucks to avoid a ref and court. Not sure if it's worth it to you or just take your chances with a ref.

i wouldn't have paid for a 1g bov. it doesn't violate CAVC. it's non adjustable and from the factory.

But the 1g bov wasn't the problem. It was the 1g 6bolt motor in a 2g with different Cas, cams, vacum lines, TB, etc etc etc :(

    d'oh!

i was looking at the website with all the legal mods for DSM's... only factory parts and upgrades are legal along with Thermal catbacks because they meet smog and dB limits. i'm sure they'll get around to testing some more exhausts soon though.

Folsom PD suck. Sorry to hear about the ticket. I was going down Greenback and the officer did a U-turn on Greenback... yes on Greenback across the median.. to pull me over to tell me I didn't have a front license plate... I wish you the best.
