Default Buying a head with 3K miles on it.. Resurface or not?

That is the question... I am guessing I may have to but they guy just had it recently done so I figured I'd check anyways. Normally I'd bug Manny about it but he's not on AIM so I'll bug you guys.

This is a very good question. Im not very optimistic with these kinds of things, as it *could* come back and bite you in the asz. I would question the quality of someone else's work, especially with something of this nature.

Just for peace of mind, I'd get it resurfaced. Better safe then sorry.

    is it complete?

The surfaces aren't going to match, plain and simple. They might be close enough, but there's no way to really guess. I'd get it resurfaced. About the only time I'd cut a corner on resurfacing a head is if it were going right back on the same block and head gasket it came from. Even then is pushing it.

ALWAYS have a used head surfaced,

unless you pull it off of your engine that was running a cometic or another type of steel gasket

It's a rebuilt head that was on an engine with ARPs and Cometic HG. But I was planning to have it resurfaced anyways. Its only like what, $45 or something?

No its more because they MUST remove the valves to do it
dont let them surface it on one of those belt sander type machines
