Default A safe way to switch back to mineral oil?

I've been running mobil 1 10w-30 fully syntethic oil in my white 1gB awd since I dropped in the jdm 4g63t in it back in 2002. I have this very very small oil leak, which I havent been able to find even after steam cleaning the engine many times.

I run mobil 1 5w-30 mineral oil in my red 1gB awd.

My cousin who is a mechanic switched to synthetic once and developed an oil leak, and switched right back to mineral oil in his 94 s-10 SS. His leak went away once he started using mineral oil again.

Is there a safe way to switch back to synthetic? Would it help if I dropped the oil pan and took out any left over onces of oil before switching back to mineral oil?

I've read some horror stories from people that switched back to mineral oil, bearings going out, rings frying, stuff like that.

I've read about the differences in the oils and with the molecules being smaller in synthectic oil, I'm gunna have that small oil leak forever basically.

    Just change it

As for the leak, its a leak and needs to be fixed

I run syntethic in EVERYTHING and nothing I own leaks
it goes from a small leak to a bigger leak with syn

I need to purchase a kit to find the leak.... I've replaced the valve cover gasket and the related half moon shaped gasket and spark plug well gaskets and it helped a little bit, but nothing major.
I know you have a UV dye kit. Do you remember where you bought yours at?

I've looked all over, steam cleaned, degreased and steam cleaned the engine about 5 times already. The engine is CLEAN. I havent tried the UV dye yet. The leak is SO small and gradual that it makes tracking it down a royal pain in the asz. This leak started gradually until I began to notice that I was low about 3 ounces of oil before every oil change. Now I'm about 6 ounces low every 3,000 miles.

I'd like to keep using synthetic since it stays cleaner longer. I notice that it still has great viscosity even after 3,000 miles.

Any suggestion for tracking this down?
