I just did a 134 conversion on my girlfriends 89 prelude, didn't seem quite as cold (about 50*) so we will see how the compressor holds up. The car won't be around much longer, so I am not too worried, but good read.

It seems that the automotive industry yet again is going to change AC refridgerant. Our company (1800 Radiator) has been told that within the next 2-3 years, there will yet again be another change in ac systems. I guess they want to go even more enviromentally friendly with all the ac stuff. Hopefully they can find a way so that we only have to change refridgerant and not condenser, drier, etc...

Create a friendly, affordable solution and the government doesn't like it because it doesn't fit their 'pocket book plans'. Sad really. But thanks for posting the link, I need to recharge my a/c somehow in the 93 Imp. It's an R12 system :(

Most places still do r12... it just costs a hell of a lot more, as it's no longer produced, but it still is recovered and reused...

    hehehe

Wrecked cars are chock full of r12...

You should ALWAYS replace the reciever/dryer its pretty much a oil filter for your AC system

R134 retrofits NEVER get cold at idle in traffic.
My personal opinion, stick with r12 if it was a r12 system

Yeah I know, it's just in that article, it shows a guy coming up with a very cheap solution to converting your R12 system without having to switch over to R134. Like an alternate freon that is just as cheap as R134, environment friendly like R134, but efficient like R12 and compatible with it and it's oils. That kind of stuff just pisses me off. Just like gas prices being so high, but I won't get into that since it's a political subject.

So THATS the secret LOL. I was wondering why that old Jetta was freezing my ballz heading towards the park to film TJ's ride.

This is the only "OEM" direct fit radiator we can get for the courier. Visteon, oem for Ford, doesnt make the parts anymore but we have a couple left in the warehouses. All the radiators come with the TOC coolers built in except for the Koyo and CSF all Aluminum radiators.
