It's a:
1961 Chevy Apache truck, short bed, fleetside. Its primered gray, has a TH400 Transmission in it, with a couple of aftermarket parts inside the tranny, a couple of engine mods, a cam. Body is STRAIGHT, a couple very small dents.
Specifics on it:
From what I saw on the truck last night...
*It has a 454 big block out of a 73' C-10
with a Chevy factory highrise intake manifold
*Holley 750cfm 4-barrel carburator
*Front end suspension out of a 73' C-10
*TH400 transmission out of a 73 C-10,
supposedly has a Trans-go shift kit in it, and a 3300 RPM stall torque converter.
*Power steering box out of that same 73' C-10
*Rear end differential out of a 66' Lincoln Continental, which is a Ford 9" rear end, BULLETPROOF differential with 2.73's
*All original glass windows are on there, no cracks or chips.
*All original tailgate, no dents
*tags are current, nothing is owed
*clean title, ALL numbers match
*straight body, a couple little minor dents
I don't even care about all of those other parts on it, I'm going to restore it as much as I can, get it running and driveable as fast as possible.
The BAD:
No driveshaft...gunna need a custom one made.
No brakelines.......gunna need to custom make some brake lines, since the rear end has disk brakes from the Lincoln
Needs intake mani/carb to be put back together, a couple gaskets
No starter
No battery
Needs a paintjob, its primered right now
He also gave me (2) Holley 650 cfm 4 barrel carbs for free, a big box full of brand new chrome accesories, timing chain cover, valve covers, water neck, and all kinds of other chromed out engine bling bling.
For the next couple of weeks in my spare time, I'm going to be working on this truck to get it running again.
If any of you want to stop by sometime, chill, drink some sodas, and watch me wrench on this truck, you're more then welcome to.
