Default How to screw a machine shop over?

So I spent about $430 at a local machine shop here that's been here a while. They did a valve job and seals and hot tanked it and resurfaced the head, the usual. The OWNER of the shop looked at the head in front of me and told me I didn't need the guides replaced. ~1500 miles later the valve seals are leaking.

I go in there today and tell him what happened and INSTANT attitude from this old f$%k. He tells me he thinks it's "ludicrous that YOU could look at the car and come in here and tell me our valve job is bad" after I told him why I thought (knew) the valve seals were leaking. I said fine, have one of your guys look at the car and tell me what you think since I'm so wrong. He said, "No I'm a 30 yr experienced Machinist not a mechanic" so I say "REALLT?! You're pretty quick to tell me why I'm so wrong when you're not a f%*kin mechanic!"

So we go back and fourth and he says just pull the head off and bring the head, intake manifold, and turbo into us and we'll look it over and see if it's covered under our warranty. I told him I wouldn't pull the turbo because I already checked it out, plus it's less than 4000 miles old. He just said whatever.

But even if they repair the valve seals, I'm out a head set and the hours or work it takes me to pull and reinstall the head. Regardless of whether they fix it, I want to hurt them right back again for being 30yr experienced, not knowing what the hell they're doing, and being such a piece of s%^t to me, a paying customer.

So I start here on the forums and recommend to you guys to not to give MARYSVILLE MACHINE SHOP any of your business (not like you Sac folks are gonna go there anyways :P but for the locals here...) Obviously they are incapable of simple head work and extremely rude to customers.

My next step is to pull all business from my father in laws corporation, I guess you would call it. Multiple businesses here in town that are no longer going there for ANYTHING, including the connected MAPCO stores. I made sure of that. We've got other machine shops and parts stores here that they will now go to.

But what the hell else can I do to get at their revenues? Word of mouth gets around but I thought I'd ask you all for some advice on the best way to spread the bad word.

Another place you want to stay away form is hust bros machine shop, unless you have a mullet, drive a v8, or met you wife at some type of a family gathering.

A good place I can recommend is clay and pacquet, they are really honest people and do good work.
I run 5's in the 1/4 because I because is raced a honda who runs 7's with 1.3liter 3barrel carb.

Sorry to hear about that Lee,
I too am still on the quest for a GOOD Machine shop, MotorMachine here in Carmichael is good for now but I am looking for a shop with a little more Import business under their belt.

I guess you could stand out there and picket their shop! HAHAHA

If you're willing to make a drive, you should try CompTech Machine in eldorado hills. It's like a block from my work. They're kinda pricy (course when they did my head they put larger valves in, and being an AMC, I'm not sure that the valves were readily available) but they do good work. Most of their web site stuff is honda/acura stuff, but they also do Indy cars, so you get an idea of the level of performance they can provide.

Yea Comtech is a little overkill for every day stuff, but I would give them a try next time I need a head flowed!!!
The last time I was up there they were engine testing!!! WOW those things sound killer up close!!!
