I'd say stick with the Spyder till you sell it. If you pick that up you'll have about 5x the problems later on.. and about 10x the bill

I hope you're joking about having 5Xs the problem?? The 2si/3si platform has its problems but not nearly at the rate of a DSM... (I've owned 2) Basically it would come down to how hard are all those miles on the 2si and what kind of maintenace has this guy done... In the end the DSM wll break before the 2si does, but the thing is.. they'll both break LOL..

Maybe not 5X the problems but if you can't handle a simple smog problem on a 2G, you're not going to be able to handle even simple maintence on the RT/TT. They're well known for a handful of problems but more so for being a royal pain in the ass to work on.

This is true... I woulda kicked my 3si to the curb excet for It was under warranty and I always had them fix stuff.. Plus I owned a 30zx prior to it... (Worst engine bay design... ever.)

    Are you kidding
the 3kgt's are WAYYYY worse than ANYTHING in terms of reliabilty

his 2g is worth twice what that stealth is

For the cost of any major repair on a 3si you will have to sell a liver.

We just sold a 96' TT engine complete MINUS transmission for $6500!!
and the 6 speed trans went for $3500

That and you combine the fact that 3si guys are just mike most DSM'ers........THEY HAVE NO F"ING CLUE when it comes to working on their cars with the cars that have alot more little issues that can cause big problems, if not fixed right.

I dunno if this is sarcasm... but the fact you said "WAYYYY" leads me to think it is. A 2si is about as reliable as any1g, but we are talking about a 7 bolt 2g. I've had both cars, (replaced my 3kgt VR4 with my AWD Talon) I wouldn't drive farther than my tow service range in the talon unless my life depended on it. I drove from SoCal to Sacramento every other week in my 3kgt (about 1000 miles round trip) and never had one sputter, stutter, or stop.

his 2g is worth twice what that stealth is

Neither car holds much market value.. what it may be "worth" and what you could actually get... are beyond numbers...

For the cost of any major repair on a 3si you will have to sell a liver.

I agree with you 100% here.. I'd only sel a kidney though, I got one to spare =P

We just sold a 96' TT engine complete MINUS transmission for $6500!!

Did you say this to tell us that you jipped them, or that they were dumbe nough to pay that much for it?? You could buy a built 3kgt engine for that price...

and the 6 speed trans went for $3500

    Same as above

That and you combine the fact that 3si guys are just mike most DSM'ers........THEY HAVE NO F"ING CLUE when it comes to working on their cars with the cars that have alot more little issues that can cause big problems, if not fixed right.

I agree with that too ahha.. I think the DSM world has a fe more ricers/ morons, but all in all it pans out to haev the same effect... They are mitsus, what can you expect fromt hem but problems??

That just about sums it up

I have seen 91 3000gt's in better condition that 98-99' cars,

The 96' engine we sold for $6500 went complete with EVERYTHING, the car had been babied and only had 24 k on it,
everything looked new on the engine.

As for most DSM'ers being hack/ricers, the 3si guys are hack/geeks, I know I see them all day
They will spend all week trying to get their POS active aero to work
