    Default Thunderhill Pics

Got a great day in on Wednesday. It was last minute and I coudn't have asked for the car to run any better. I need a set of coilovers and R-Compounds to keep up with some of the other's that are out there. However, my car was catching most people on the straights.

Sorry Shane....It was last minute and I just barely got up there.

I drove well in the later sessions as I got use to insane amount of HP Jonathan has created under my hood. I didn't have a hot lap timer in my car but I imagine I was in the 2:12-2:13 range.

I paid $60 for a CD with about 25+ pics on it. Dito from Gotbluemilk.com shows up at most of the events. This was 6 - 30 minute sessions for $165 and I used about $185 in race gas.

Big props to Old Dirty as usual......Dr Old Dirty is how we should be addressing him around here :D

$185 dollars in race gas? what a scam. I thought it would be in the neighborhood of $50-$60 dollars.
Road courses are definately fun, but expensive as well.

well when racing full out, turbo cars get on avarage 4-10mpg
it is easy to burn up a 12 gallon tank in 2 or 3 hours, mutiply that by $7 a gallon

its better to bring your own fuel to the track but since Damon is hard as nails and actually DRIVES his car to the track, rips it all day and drives home, bringing 30 gallons of fuel is not really possible.
Track days are in no way cheap, from preping a car that will run full out all day, the hundreds of dollars just to get on the track, the tires, fuel, food, transport and on and on and on.

You almost never see a DSM out at a track day........hmm wonder why (too much money spent on big turbos, and not enough on brakes and cooling) or they are sitting in the garage motorless

    Thanks Jonathan.
I definitely need to invest in a trailer and use the Lexus to tow her, but there are a good number of us that hoof it back and forth to the track. My EVO isn't my daily driver and this really isn't something you want to do with your daily driver. If I break something....oh well....I tow it home and I fix it but I can still get to work and go on with my life. I need to get a roll bar bad because it's scary driving that fast with no roll over protection in the car.
