Well according to the vin it originally had a 440, but the seller put a crate fuel injected 426 hemi in it. Course now the guy's acting all shady, making excuses for why he can only sell the car through ebay's vehicle purchase protection program and can't meet in person to exhange car for cash and such, so I think it might be a scam... he was asking WAY too low a price for the quality of the pictures he gave me... 6,500 for the cleanest challenger I've ever seen (my dad's got a '70 and a '71, both with 383s)
I'm irked right now, cause I really want this fucking car, but if it is real, it should be going for closer to 65,000... so yea, I might just have to buy the carfax, but at this point I don't know what to think of this guy. Says his grandfather died and so he's left with this car that's full of memories of gramps, and needs to go... so if it needs to go, why the hell is he giving me the runaround. Grrr!!

says north carolina, but I'm pretty sure it's a scam, cause he doesn't want me to come pick it up with cash, so yea... stupid ass gets my hopes up and is just a scam... course, I didn't really think the price could be right.

a rust-free, staight-body challenger would be a steal for 6500 regardless of the engine. its hard to find a duster for that, let alone a challenger. my dad is the original owner of a 'cuda 340 and he never thought prices would get this crazy.
I've seen a rusted out cuda shell that needed the trunk both sides floorpans, and much of the exterior sheetmetal replaced go for over 10k... my dad's got a pair of challengers, a 70 and a 71, and we were hoping for a third, but though I was hopeful that there was some legitamacy to the price, I also knew that it was worth 10x what he was asking... :-(Originally Posted by whiteautogsx
