Thread: Anyone wanna help keep the hope alive??!

Well after talkin to some friends (some of them having been victoms of the 1G :twisted: ) I'm really pressed to keep this damned car! I talked to Manny yesterday about what I needed to go through and change on the rebuild and it kinda gave me a little boost of motivation. The first and biggest problem though is my lack of knowledge on this engine.. Sure I could read VFAQ and through trial and erro eventually get the head off and rebuilt (new valves and seals) then changing all the timing parts but that would take my time burdened slow noob ass weeks to complete... What would be cool is if anyone wanted to swing by and maybe help out on the rebuild. I could feed ya and even though I'm not old enough to buy you the drinks myself (20yrs old) I could at least pay for em! I like to eat so you'll be well taken are of! :P

It'll kinda give me a chance to meet some other people within the Sac-DSM community. I'd talk to Manny about it and maybe get his hoist down here so I could even put in the poly mounts but his work schedule is pretty busy so that is almost out of the question.

Anywho, just wonderin who might wanna lend a hand and teach me a few things about this car. I've fixed quite a few things on it already (I think that was an omen) but now that major stuff is comin up I'm at a loss for time. ( I can make it though when ever you'd want) Hell if you need some extra cash I'm sure that could be worked out too if need be.

Anyways, that's the jist of it. New DSMer with an oldschool DSmers car in need of a little assistance. I wanna make at least one DSM meeting with the car :roll:

I'm in the same boat at you. Need help removing and replacing engine. I have a engine I bought and it is on a hoist right now, I just need some help removing and installing the one in my car now. If anyone is willing to drive to Gridley (about an hour north of Sac) I would be thankful and also willing to buy food and beverages and pay cash for your time and gas. My car is at the shop I work at right now and I have all of the tools and a lift and everything.

I'm not trying to steal your thread, but I need some help too. If anyone has some time and would like to help, please let me know.

That sucks, but at least you got out of Cali. Do you know anyone around the Yuba area that might be willing to help and that you trust knows what to do? I'm ready to get it running again, I just put a new timing belt and waterpump on the engine that is out and was thinking about buying a clutch while I'm at it, but would like to at least be able to get it running.
