Default greddy type s bov is not legal

hey i didnt' know this but i go stopped by a cop and he looked at my engine and told me that my avcr is illegal, my safc2 is also not allowed, my a/f guage isn't and my turbo timer, cause it is connected to the a/f sensor wire, not only that but even though i'm recirculating my bov the greddy type s is illegal also. damnit, is that correct. i didn't believe it but the referee told me the same thing. anyway, so i gotta take my car and stuff all the way back to stock and go to a referee, damnit. lemme know if you guys know any tricks or if there is a place i can go to get the numbers to show they are legal. i hate me car, damn damn damn. it doesn' help that my car is mad flashy.

A/F Gauge and Turbo Timer are legal. They in no way modify emissions.

They tap into the O2 wire and are illegal. Gotta love CA

You're alloud to moniter engine diagnostics using the OBDII com port only. Even if it doesn't modify emissions in any way shape or form.

flat black paint is our friend. im going to put a good coat of it on my AFPR (and point the pressure gauge down so they wont know what it is), and im going to wrap the SS feed line with something black. this all just for precaution for when i drive it cause my sister drives the car most of the time and the cops are ALWAYS nice to her (damn sexists  ).

The cop is not a licensed State Referee, he cannot testify as an expert in vehicle emissions.

Here's the page right out of the book:

wow dude you need to make some copies of that book and send them out to dsmers.

the part where it says "intercoolers for OEM turbochargers" does that mean intercoolers for non oem turbo's are acceptable?

but yeah, any modification to the intake to make it flow better is illegal. even though most modifications have been shown that when the intake/exhaust flow better, it increases mileage and has reduced emissions.

That sounds like it means any intercooler is aloud as long as the vehicle is equipted with an OEM turbocharger. Meaning a retro fit turbo system does not count.

This is awsome because if you get pulled over and they bring up an exhaust and an intercooler, those are both legal and does not provide probable cause to search under the hood.

well i mean it seems like they dont want you to have anything that coule prolong the life of your car, a bov helps the turbo and stuff, and all the safc and a/f guage help monitor and make sure that the motor is getting the best amount of gas and air right? so what is up with that.

refer back to my post about exhausts. exhaust systems are not illegal and i posted the CHP ordinance on that along with the limitations and guidelines.

the intake modification is not illegal either as long as it's not thermostatically controlled. such as a 360* open air filter from K&N. that came straight from a ref's mouth when i was over there one time.
