Jonathan knows a little something about 240's
I'm the first person to do a 180 in mid air at RPM.

    240????

    hmmm

well what are your plans for it???

both the SR and KA engines are built VERY stout from the factory

if you just want a bit of boost go with the Greddy 20g kit for the KA it will make 280-300whp with almost stock everything except for injectors and fuel pump.

the SR has WAYYY more aftermarket parts available for it, plus the cost of a front clip is going up by the day. and after you do a sr swap it will only make about 200-220 whp in stock form.

ya id be happy with the sr20det in it.. my goal is mid 13's.. one of my concerns of the sr20 though is if will pass lame ass CA smog.. plus i think id rather put a stock turbod car in it instead of turbo'n a NA motor.. well at least thats what i think.. as soon as she gets outa the paint shop ill post some pics and all.. now i just need to find a good nissan dismantler.. i gotta pick up a few little interior parts that dont need to be done but should.. also how much is it for a sr20 swap done the right way professionally? it may take a while but i plan on making this one s14 to admire :D

No SR swap is smog legal, and even if you turbo the KA and the cops get you the engine still has a turbo bolted to it,

Motorsport charges $2100 for labor, I would do it yourself it is a bolt in deal. and there is tons of info on the net for the wiring. which is also the easiest wiring swap I have ever done there is only 3 plugs you have to change the end on and you are done.

Cost, depends on what you want, I picked up just the engine and trans complete minus wiring for $900 due to the fact I was going to run all aftermarket, turbo, IC, fuel system, radiator, fans, ecu, and a 300zx mas sensor.

well that sux.. guess the swap will have to wait a few years when i leave this god forsaken state.. till then i guess ill just be slowzilla.. ill be lookin good.. just slow.. oh well.. when i move to arizona or texas.. or somewhere without a visual inspection of smog. then all gloves will be off and the fun will begin. or maybe i can just open up a smog station here in cali somewhere.. then i can smog it to me pleasure. as for doing it myself.. ive done an at home instal and it isnt that fun and takes way to long.. i dont mind paying someone else to have peace of mind that it is gonna run flawlessly and in a timely manor..

When I was looking at buying a 240sx a few years back, I found a big Sacramento area 240sx forum through Google. There is also a small clan of them also down here at Travis AFB with some really nice swaps done, one guy liked it so much, he blew his engine a few times and is on his 3rd one I believe :D , so it must be fun...j/k. Just make sure you go with a shop that has a good rap and hopefully it'll work out.

Phil speaks the truth. there are a bunch of them at Travis. they've all blown their motors at one point in time.
the black top swapped 240 on base is the fastest of the bunch right out of the box. he's been happy with that one.

there's also an all motor 240 on base that sounds mean and looks really clean too. s14 style
it also happens to be the best looking one i've ever seen and it's pretty much plain. JDM front, sides and rear with a nice spoiler.

there's also an all black (primer) one that is turbo that everyone says is fast too.

those 95 240sx look very nice. There is a guy that is selling his 95 pearl white 240 sx, too bad its automatic.
Would a automatic to manual swap be very expensive on a 95 240sx?

Some guys have said that it is a horrible idea to turbo the KA engine, due to weaker internals that aren't boost friendly... They said that its better in the long run to just get a SR engine from the start.

If I find one cheap with a blown engine, I'll pick it up and get it running.

    Great buy. Post some pics.
    BIG PLANS.....STAY TUNED.....
