I would put money on it that his top does not work,
and NO parts are available from the dealer just due to the fact that Mitsubishi subcontracted out the top conversion to ASC and of those 500 turbo card that were built about 1000 more n-t cars were also built, and Mitsu had to buy back a large number of them due to the problems with the tops, and no available parts over run.
and there are alot of parts on that car that are Vert only even the Rocker mouldings.
plus its a 3kVR-4 the biggest nickel and dime your a$$ to death car on the planet
the best way to buy one is STOCK and LOW mileage otherwise it would be like marrige to a crack whore......yea it will work but its going to be ugly

still minus the problems it COULD have, that car is awesome!!! never see another one like that
Yea it is a nice car, but STOCK and LOW mile is the way too go,
We sold a wrecked one of these missing top parts back in 98' for 18k
they were over 50k when they sold in 95...

so the top had problems? i could live with a top that i had to manually move.. is that the only major problem (besides normal 3kgt problems)???
Well the top is all controled by hydraulic fluid, tons of little lines and rams everywhere, the top is a hard top which makes it very heavy. the lines and fittings are not the problem its the little cast aluminum brackets that all broke.
as for 3KGT problems..........take all the problems all generations of DSM's have multiply by 10 and add 300% to the cost of all the parts.
Oh wait........they don't get crankwalk......its more like crank-go-boom
