    Default Venting!!!

    <venting>
    G*# Da$* it! I'm so sick of all of these freakin ricers and their bull $#!+. I went to another forum I used to frequent and the first post I read is this:

    A post about a Scion TC
    "Well after watching this vid and reading into the setup, I already think toyota has honda beat... Boosting 7lbs of boost on this 2.2 that has 160 hp stock and running a mid 14 is very nice."

    The founder and owner of this so called auto enthusiest site for Northern Cali posted that... what the $*%$ is so nice about a mid 14 with thousands of dollors of engine modification???

    Everyone on the site is like that and I always go back about once a month and see if anything technical is being discussed... no such luck.

    And if I read one more post where someone uses the word "yO" and they're not joking, I'm going to throw up :shock:

    </venting>

    Ok I'm done now :)

    y0! Why you all hot and bothered, 14 *is* fast for a honduh and most new toyota's...

    naw, J/K... I think that the problem is that we just have such a superior car in every way, looks, handling, power, speed... the peeps at DSM knew what they were doing when they put together the eclipses, they made a motor that can handle shitloads of power, and put it in a car that handles well...

    the problem is that to make a car that will run for 300k miles or more without major repairs, you have to limit the performance in exchange for reliability... soo... they're slow and when you give them more power, their aluminum motors die.

    This so called enthusiest, is enthusiastic about those particular cars, and so, for him 14 is grand... I think my daytona will do 14 right now, completely stock... hopefully I'll be able to tell you next week, depending on how changing the oil pan gasket goes (I've had to fix one thing after another on this car since I got it, and I'm still under $1000 in parts, including the price of the car)

    It's not even about having slow cars. I've had slow cars, I drove to work or school in them. Lots of people have slow cars cause like you said, they're made reliable, cheap, and they serve their purpose which is NOT to compete with vettes at the local drag strip. (or get in their way)

    I get sick of the whole "race what ya got" mindset. An ebay intake and dynomax muffler sticking out the back of a car doesn't make it a drag car, a autox car, or anything that should be trying to hang with REAL cars on the highway. Drive to work, get your 50 miles per gallon and get the hell in the slow lane when I drop gears ;) Not like I have a super fast car but at least I know it.

    To be honest I want a Scion TC. But I'm gonna drive it to school and love my nice looking commuter car, not slap $2k worth of supercharger on it just to keep up with stock 1989 Civic Si hatch backs... :roll:

    Gotta agree with you there... I drive a '94 tercel, and I'd be willing to bet it has well below it's factory rate 84 horses... I'm not about to try and tune that to be a fast car (well... actually we had tossed around the idea of putting a 22re in it, but that was just because a friend had one he was thinking about giving us)

    The race what you got mentality isn't so bad, as long as they realize that their car isn't that fast... it's the people that pay ungodly amounts of money for crap they don't need (blowers) and still go slow as hell that really should be taken out and slapped around...
