Don't people swap out the 5th gear between the two for better gas milage and higher top speed. I know people use the GR4 1st but I'm not sure if that's only the GSX guys.

Well you just need the ring and pinion drive gear from the GS-T trans, it will go into the GSX case

It has a lower ratio (3.80:1 fwd VS 4.21:1 awd)

but.......... it will not drive through your transfer case, the transfer case is also reduced (only in 2g's)
it will bind up with your rear gear ratio of 3.55

So with AWD the GS-T final drive gears will not work

You can do teh Galant VR-4 1st gear and TRE's 15% overdriven 5th, thats about it

Have you launched it hard yet? I keep wondering on how those Verts are going to hold up with AWD

like if the doors start closing funny or the top won't close. I guess you could always put a cage in it.

id definately get the 15% overdriven 5th, that way youre not screaming away at 3500rpm's just doing 80. after driving my GT on the freeway(80mph is around 2000rpm) i drove the GST to sac to sell it and trasnfer the paperwork, it annoyed me to be at that high of rpm.

id deffinately get the vr4 1st and 2nd gear with the double synchros though for awd useage. on fwd, i wouldnt really bother unless i had the money, youre just gonna spin through those gears anyways.
