so i'm getting stationed in sacramento soon (USCG), i know absolutely nothing about the area or anything like that, so i figured i'd find something i know well and tracked down a dsm site.....man thats pathetic.....anywho, i hail from good ol NC and carolinadsm.com, not a newbie by any means, but i'm always learning new crap. currently don't have a car, but will be looking to track down a dsm when i get there. anywho, just dropping a line.

Welcome aboard :) How was the dsm scene in NC? Everyone dwindels away here during the winter, but afterward we get a pretty good size group going during the spring and summer.

the dsm scene in NC is pretty damn good actually, there are quite a few fast dsm's running around NC, and a lot of old dsm grandpas who know way too much for their own good

Nice. Laws are a little more strict here then I would imagine over there, so the modding scene is starting to die down. But there's enough of us with hard dsm knowledge to make a good group. You can use this temporary user/pass to view the videos on the front page if you haven't already seen them off tuners/talk.

    Enjoy.

hey what's up man. nice to see a fellow military person. nice to see a Carolina DSM'er also. do you know Mark Trinder? he used to own the red rx-7 and he has had a few DSM's. if you don't know him by name, it's a shorter pudgy guy that DJ's at the Buzzard.

haha hell yeah i know marko! he's the man. i almost had to get a tetanus shot for working under the hood of his old rustbucket talon! yeah, i was sad to see that rx7 go, that thing was sweet. although, i used to work at a mazda dealership and we saw that car weekly.

    thanks for user/pass, also!

and i'm sure the cost of living is higher out there, but is it like retardedly high? trying to figure out if my BAH/BAS are gonna compliment my next-to-nothing military salary sufficiently.

Cost of living isnt THAT bad...buut if you decide to buy a house here you could effectivly sell it and then go to any other state practically and buy 2 houses of greater size I laugh, but it's true.

    i'm an e-3 ( e-4 isn't until next october....sigh), last i saw, BAH was like $983 w/o dependants. hopefully it's gone up

i'm going to be stationed at CG Air Station Sacramento which is at the old McClellan AFB.

yeah, i think i've known marko for probably the same amount of time, i've been on cdsm since it was in diapers. the webmaster also happened to be my best friend since like 7th grade...which was like 10-12yrs ago (god that makes me feel old)
