Thread: They finaly got me

Well I guess the third time is a charm because I'v been pulled over two other times and this time they got to look under the hood.
I got pull over for "no front plate" and then the cop asked me to pop my hood I told him there is no reason for me to if all he has is a plate violation on me(same as the other two times). Then he asked for licence and reg.. This is were I messed up because I gave him the bill of sale with the reg. with out realizing it. He gose back to his car then comes back up to my car and shows me the bill of sale and says "read this sentence right here" and it said:

WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SMOG OF STATED VEHICLE BECAUSE IT IS KNOWN THAT THE JDM ENGINE WILL NOT PASS CA. STATE EMMISIONS STANDARDS. IT IS THE BUYERS RESPONSABILITY FOR SMOG AND LICENCING.

Then I looked up at him and he said "now you can pop your hood" so I did and he went through it for about 45 min. I the only thing the could find that was "illeagal" was the afpr and the "cold air intake" not the race core sbr fmic OR t3/t4 57trim OR hks external wastegate OR gm blow through mass air OR maft witch says horse power in a box on the front of it OR tubular manfold OR the missing factory mass air ! And he was the sargent and was driving the big ford DOT/CHP truck.

sorry to hear about that. make sure to tell us what you end up getting away with when you get reffed cause i heard they check block numbers as well as year/model-specific intake manifold designs.

prolly nothing, reff stations are super anal about everything, down to spark plug wires. that engine bay will have to look perfectly stock in order to pass.

They supposedly check every vacuum line as well to ensure that is properly hooked up. Although the would never know if you had an upgraded fuel pump or injectors :D

I hope they don't because I am going all back to stock with everything exept for injectors and fuel pump.
I have a small probleme that I don't know if they will catch though That is that I can not find a 90 TB I have a JDM one with one vac. out and a 91-94 one that has four and I don't know if they are going to get all anal on that or if they just want to see that everything that is suposed to be ther is and that it is all working . I still have alot of work to do to get back to stock but I think I ahev all the parts though. Anyways I'll let you guys know what happens I will be makeing the appointment monday so I won't ref till at least after christmas.
