How many crankwalked DSM's have you seen at M&S?
You are going to love this...
1 in 5 manual trans 2g turbo engines are IN SPEC and are ok to sell,
all turbo auto trans engines are good,
I have never seen a 6 bolt walk, 6 bolts are just built better, more bearing surface, bigger journal diameter, stronger cranks, larger rods and cap bolts, bigger main caps.
Most of the 2g cores we get back have windows in the sides of them, 1g's are almost always over heated to hell or a valve broke off and stuck it self in the top of the piston because someone screwed up on a t-belt job or they never changed it.
2g DSM guys do take better care of their cars for the most part and most of the 1g guys are cheap asses and do it the cheap way and not the right way but there are a few good ones out there.
I have seen some crazy stuff, I have seen some of the biggest hack jobs ever on DSM's because I am the last person to turn a wrench on them before they go to the big DSM heaven in the sky....except for the 2g's I send them STRAIGHT TO HELL

haha that is funny I need to get myself one of those, since I'm running 26-30 PSI with my 60 trim :D Man all that talk about crank walk I'm suprised that I didn't get one ( you guys know the way that I drive my car). My baby never let me down and never blew up on me not even one transmission (I'm sure that luck will go away since I'm AWD now) Never had a ring or velve steam seals or bearings failure. Raced it ever since I've bought it (Feb 2001).Yes it's a weekend driver (maybe not EVERY weekend) When I start it up there is no miss fire or blue smock hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I guess it's not quite true what they say about 7 bolt. Yeah AWD transmission short gears SUCK, but its fun to drive it.
That's actually pretty good odds compaired to the bull shit hype about crankwalk. Only one out of five that make it to the bone yard (not one out of five 2Gs ever made) are there for crankwalk. I don't think anyone on this board has ever had their car crankwalk. Anyone? I know a few bought crankwalked cars because they were cheap. Hell, I did. But it wasn't crankwalk lol, it was some jack ass using the wrong bearings on their rebuild.

I mean I heard that it happened before but I haven't seen one, maybe it happened a few times but its not like its a common failure or something. I mean if it's that bad a lot of people in Sacramento that are abusing their cars including me should get one. Maybe I just have to wait and see.
Yea, thats because 2gs>1gs. People would rather take a good motor out of a 1g and drop it in a 2g and junk the 1g rather than the 2g. There is a reason for that. 1gs won't ever be good for anything except... oh, nevermind.Originally Posted by 98spydert
I think you should read dirty's post more closely. He clearly states FOUR out of FIVE 2g m/t cars at his junkyard have crankwalked or thrown rods, ect. I'm not saying 4/5 2g's build will crankwalk, but its probably more common than you are thinking. Bottom line is 1g's fail due to abuse or neglect, 2g's fail due to poor build quality.
