    Default Cops... *sigh*

So anyways... bought a new (to me *used*) car, sold my grand am =T... called my ins went to dmv and registered it... had no front plate and let them know... they said they were gonna mail me plates... ( i said wth i might as well get custom ones since i need 2 plates)

driving back home i get pulled over for no front plate LoL (just my luck)... i told the cop what happened... now he gave me a fix it for no front plate... and a no insurance ticket because he said my ins said it was for the grand am... im like wth... i bought the car that day... registered it that day... i wont have an insurance card yet =T and cali law says i have 30 days... i tell him all this nicely and he was like... you have to settle this with the court... does anyone know how much this will run? it just annoys me that i will need to go to carol miller justice to show proof of insurance when i get it in the mail...

$10 with proof of insurance. That's how much they charged me for a similar infraction at Roseville.

Sac court will probably dismiss it once you show proof of insurance.

This is when you get the officers name just in case you plan on fighting the ticket or for some reason it escalates. You obviously knew the law, was covered with insurance, explained to him your situation, and yet he still gave you a fix-it-ticket. Anyway, yeah, you just hand the cop or rep at the court your proof/paperwork during your hearing and he'll submit it to the judge. Judge is too busy to deal with the crap most of the time and just tells you to pay $10 and/or just be on your merry way.

Every ticket includes the officers name and if you look at it from his perspective it makes a little more sense why he issued the ticket. :D It won't cost you to much money though.

not really, any normal person would hear out the story, and realize instead of spending 20 minutes writing out a ticket that will just waste a judges time, they could be out catching someone worth writing a ticket for thats actually doing something blatantly wrong.

Cops are normal people and there job is to cite anyone who is breaking the law. No front license is a stupid law, but none the less a law. I doubt anyone on these boards is a felon but small citations are usually what segways to larger things, such as weapons/drugs/warrants. So it's not always a complete waste of time to pull some over and cite them for a small violation.

Don't stick up for them just because you're panning on wearing the badge and half your family already does :p

Small, useless citations do NOTHING but generate revenue for the city or county. There is no way in hell anyone is going to argue that me not wearing a front plate is going to lead to drug use, assault, or any other greater crime. CA law enforcement can suck me, my assault weapons, and my non smogged vehicles sideways.

Your not supposed to wear the front license plate :) Only have it mounted to the front bumper on your vehicle. But I can't hate because you have a nice quote lol.
