    Default More 2.4l goodness!

Well most of this will not apply to you guys but I'm sure Damon will start drooling,

I was over at the Subaru and Kia yard the other day and I noticed an engine on a hoist that looked VERY similar to the EVO5-8 4g63 engine!!? I aksed WTF that was out of............Kia Optima....2.4!!!!

So my natural reaction......hey Andy you got any cores lying around...." yea we have 3" cool mind if I get them out of your way?? "Sure!"

So I pulled them appart, heads are EXACTLY the same as an EVO 8 head save for the cam profiles, and 2 of the cranks are Perfect, one needs a rod journal weld,

So anyone want a stroker EVO engine built???

i was talking to a guy on our mustang site that just did a 2.4 stroker on his evo, loves it. just dynoed it with a meth injection kit and cams, ran 380hp at the wheels and 405ft/lbs tq at the wheels at 24psi. the stock evo turbo is running out of air up top, and his stock fuel system is running out of fuel, but somehow he wont admit to that. but his clutch is dying(stock one), and he did 3 pulls before it finally grabbed and gave him those numbers, im expecting them to be higher once he gets something better in there.

i dont like evos, but his is pretty fucking sweet, and he hates it cause he hates 4 doors like me, but wanted a dsm with a warranty. cool guy.

    The 2.4 isn't a stroker bud. A 2.0 block with a 2.4 crank is a "stroker" and calculates to 2.3. A 2.4 is just the 2.4 engine.

Anyways... Sounds like he's got a lot of potential with those tq numbers. I'm interested in what he can put down with a different turbo and good clutch.

If you run the 2.4 crank in the 2.0 block it keeps the rod ratio down so you still can spin the thing,

The 2.4 has a taller and deck and longer rods, but you can run the 2.4 block its just kinda the cheapo way to go.
