    Default undivided o2 housing

i was sitting here after helping my friend cade (boostfiend) install his turbo-back on his sti, and i was thinking about how his dp covers the turbine wheel and the wastegate, and thinking how everyone gets all but hurt if you say anything about keeping the two separated as long as possible, and i remembered that thats the way ALOT of cars have it set up so that the wastegate gas and the turbine gas meet right away, like subaru's, sr20det's and such, so ive decided that im going to gut out one of my 02 housings so that its one large opening and see how that works out

    any thoughts or comments?

My concern on the face would be boost creep.

Immediately outside the turbo the exhaust is still carries a lot of pressure and energy. Trying to force the wastegate gas into the same area will reduce the amount of gas that can exit because it will be going into higher pressure.

The whole reason for a divided O2 housing is to allow the wastegate to flow into a less restricted area where the gases are allready flowing out of the exhaust.

On the other hand do it and tell us about it! :)
