    Default Hood Pins

Trying to decide if I should get these locking ones:

    http://www.prostreetonline.com/buy/m...ing_hood_pins/

or just the regular Sparco ones

Locking ones look more appealing but I am unsure of quality or reliability.
Anyone else have them or know anything about them?

    Thanks

i kinda like the locking ones myself.

kinda hard for a cop to do a underhood search when you tell them you dont have the key to the lock.

I've had friends with the locking pins and they never had any problems. Why would you want hood pins?? The plain CF with no pins looks very clean.

I'm not sure about the laws with underhood inspections. I know they can't search a locked compartment without a warrant or probable cause so maybe the engine compartment would classified as a locked compartment with locking hood pins... or maybe it already is with out em ???

I never researched that law but that is a bonus to the locking hood pins. I really don't want hoodpins but there is so many horror stories of people havig there hood fly up and smash the hood, windshield, and roof of the car. It's not limited to the crappy c/f hood's but I have also read many stories of the ViS hoods flying up. So I don't want them but I need them for safety :( .

have you ever seen the hood a car doing 70mph on the freeway going upwind? it vibrates alot, even for a steel hood.

i wouldnt trust a CF hood without pins over 50mph on a good day. thats ANY cf hood, vis or not. just asking for it going cf without them. its a 50$ insurance that saves you lots of money when it DOES fly off.
