    Default Clean your intercooler!!

I cleaned my stock sidemount this yesterday with some gas, and installed it today in the rain :x . But when I took her for a drive I was seriously amazed. I could not believe how much more umph it had. So if you still have those nasty crank case breathers going to your intake, clean that intercooler its well worth it.

what the fuck is your problem? im sick of you second guessing me on stupid shit. when youve built a halfway fast car then you can do that. until then play keyboard tough guy with someone else. capiche? now, back on track. there has never been dyno proven evidence that this works. yes its been tried and tested. show me empirical evidence then talk your shit.

Ignore him, he's been like that from day one. Keyboard tuner is what most refer to those people as.

Simple 2 word answers backed up by absolutly nothing technical get you replys like mine. Has the anyone ever proven on a dyno that is DOESN'T work? Just because it hasn't been "dyno proven" doesn't mean it doesn't work. I sure as hell wouldn't waste my time on a dyno trying to prove something like that. It increases the intercoolers efficiency, plain and simple. Is it going to give you 25whp? No. Is it worthwhile? Yes.

wtf, Im not even sure what you guys are talking about. All I know is I had a whole gallon of gas turn into black shit. Now how are you going to tell me that taking that out is not gonna help any. 148k worth of oiled air going through that intercooler has slowed its effeciency or whatever. Go try it. Just because it hasnt been dyno proven doesnt mean it doesnt work.

I dont mean to come off as an ass in my last post, but whatever. Anyway I forgot to mention that I maxed out the stock boost gauge fairly easy after I cleaned the intercooler. I know the stocker isnt even really a boost gauge but before I could only get between the 7 and 14 if I really pushed it. So if that is some kind of proof there ya go.

i cleaned my SMIC out one time and so i know what you guys are talking about when you say the gas turns into some sort of mung. peregrine is right in a simple way that it doesn't really do much. however, 98spydert is also right in the fact that it's not been dyno proven to not work/work.
the only benefit i can see in cleaning your IC is to get the mung out of it so it's not being sucked in with the air. other than that, i could see it possibly increasing the cooling efficiency by giving the air "more room" inside of the IC since it's no longer choking on the oil in there. but i doubt if any that there will be a noticeable affect in the way it drives.
