Hey everyone, I'm new here. Anyways,
I'm trying to find a CA street legal turbo kit for my 98 eclipse rs. I haven't been able to find one online yet, so I was hoping someone here could help me out with this?
Thanks
peace out

I don't think HAHN actually pays for the EPA testing so they might claim street legal but it won't come with a CARB number. I think the Greddy kits are some of the only CA legal bolt on turbo kits.
Trade it in for a turbo model, you'll most likely spend less money. Or you can always buy mine.![]()
Alright thanks guys. I sent Hahn racecraft an email, they should get back to me by the end of the week. I still havent found any CA legal turbos yet, so I'm startin to think about looking for an engine swap. any help you can provide me with is greatly appreciated!
By the way--what kind of stuff do you guys do at your meets at that one taco bell/pizza hut?
The actual engine swap would cost you over $5,000 :) We meet up at the Roseville Jamba Juice across from The Galleria. As far as the turbo go's your best bet is to save up and find a GST/GSX/TSI for sale. Much less of a headache to start out with a turbo car then to try to turbo one that was never intended to be turbo'ed :) Then again its something unique :) Anyways you got my e-mail and its nice hearing from ya :) Maybe we can meet up sometime soon.
We mainly just check out each others cars, take pics sometimes, just talk shop for a bit. After a few hours of BSing we all cruise down sunrise to Dennys. It's pretty fun, you should cruise out one of these weekends. The directions and address are in the sticky under the events section.Originally Posted by EclipseParadise
hahn racecraft just got back to me today and they said their turbos are not carb exempt. So far all of the places i emailed have said that there is no ca street legal turbo kit for the 98 rs.
thx shane, but i cant afford a $5 grand swap for a few years and i'd like to keep my rs and make it as unique as i can. maybe i'll just work on appearance for now.
I'm hoping to make it to the meet this saturday at jamba, but im not sure if i can make it.
thanks again everyone
Np, best bet for the N/T Eclipse is to go with the basic intake, header exhaust. Then you can go for all show :) Still great looking cars :)
