    Default heater core replacement

does anyone whos done this have some advice as to what really needs to come out of the dash to replace the heater core? my dad and i are in the middle of it right now. so far we've taken out the center console, radio, center vents, glove box, passenger airbag, and gauge cluster. the hanes manual we have isn't too clear on how to get to the heater core after all i've said has been taken out. does the whole top part of the dash need to be taken out too? any help would be greatly appreciated.

crap... oh well, is there any wiring that isn't entirely obvious that i should disconnect from the dash? the whole top part of the dash is loose but there's still something attached (most likely wiring) that is keeping me and my dad from pulling it out.

since my first post, the steering wheel, dash speakers, and some more trim panels have come off.

LATE update: so the car is finally back together. replacing the heater core is an "interesting" experience. you'd think they'd make it easier to replace... i can't imagine doing something like this by yourself. oh yea, and take A LOT of pictures.

i followed the vague instructions in the haynes manual. for everything else (which is a majority), wing it. i made sure to take a picture every time something came out of the car, which helped immensely when putting it all back together. it also helps to be organized, like you'll notice the pic of all the parts laid out. they are arranged top to bottom by the order everything came out. i'll probably put all the pictures in order on photobucket. i could post a link for you if you want.
