Thread: Well if anyone remembers, I bought the EVO for sale at MnS.

Update on the car. Lol

The previous owner beat the piss out of it. It has horrible compression in two cylinders, the seals on the turbo are going bad, It has a hacked wiring harness under the glove box, and other little/big things.

I would normally be pissed if i purchased a car in this condition, but this just gives me an excuse to build the motor and throw a big ass turbo on it.

I am getting ready to order an AMS 2.3l shortblock, install my 272 cams, and install the HPF 35R I had bought for my old EVO.

Cant wait.

Yeah I checked it out when I went there a few times (I work literally 1 minute away) I kept thinking to myself that if it got jacked someone joy rided the sh*t out of that thing. I'm glad you have a positive out look on it. Most of our first 4G63 experiences were heart breaks but you learn a lot through them and in the end you have a better appreciation for your car. A love hate thing.

Plus if you bought it and wanna compete with the big boys up here in NorCaal you'll definitely need a 2.3 and a GT30 or if you are still on the 2.0 a 35r. :shock:

FFTec is the big name up here in 4G63s if you go there ask for Sean and let them know Josh from CMI witht he black Talon sent ya.

Thanks for the info man. I mean, I have owend three EVOs encluding this one. And everytimg something goes wrong. Eaither the trans, motor, clutch. But this is the ony time I decided to keep it and build it. I think it is going to be fun.

why did this motor blow? im gonna have them do my timing and tuning, if it blows. i will blow the car up.
