    Default Clutch replacement timeframe?

How long should a clutch replacement take (provided there are no major issues like seized bolts, etc..)? I'll probably do the throwout bearing too.

Word of advice. Spray the bolts down the night before with PB Blaster. Let it soak in really good. Plus, you should pretty much do the TO bearing everytime. IMO it's better to work with new parts than to have to replace old stuff when it goes out one right after the other.

Well, it took me 2 hours on my 1gb AWD, including the flywheel.

It should take you about 20 minutes less then I.

Hey, thanks a bunch guys. At least now I know how long I'll be down for. Big help!

What is PB Blaster? I assume it's akin to Liquid Wrench? I've never heard of it...

depends on how experienced you are with this kinda thing..

Ive done one in under 2 hours on an AWD..

But ive also seed newb's end up with a broken car in their garage for months after an attempted clutch swap...

If youve never done it before.. figure a weekend

I've done it several times in Hondas. It only takes me about 1 1/2 hrs for one of those. I've just never done it on a DSM before. Had to get some idea of the downtime.

Besides, I'm only *replacing* the clutch and TOB, so there should be minimal adjustment required. I'm not going to shell out the money for an upgrade right now (I would if I had the $$!). I just want to get it running right first. It's my only ride at the moment.
