where can i can an alternator with a lot of amps?
bosch makes one for the 2g n/t. you can get it through summit or wherever.
thanks, i was looking into bosch and denso but i have absolutely no clue how big of an alternator i need. im running 2000+ watts on my system.
I just happened to see this at the DSMlink site so here you go

140amps

90 amps
you'll need a 240A alternator, at idle.......thats if you really have 200A pulling from your stock alternator, but i doubt it. Your car would shut off before supplying that many amps, trust me.you arent running 2000 watts.
BIG PLANS.....STAY TUNED.....
That's not true. I could go plug in a 2000 watt amp in my car right now and it wouldn't turn it off... I could even hook a big ass speaker up to it and see what I could push. It's not going to turn my car off until there's more draw on the electrical system than it's producing to power the car... so, the fact that he's got 2000+ watts of equipment in his car doesn't mean that he's actually pushing it all, but he more than certianly could be running it... besides we have no other specs. Multiple batteries, caps? Just because his car isn't dying doesn't mean the equipment isn't there... he's just not pushing it to peak levels (and seriously, who the fuck wants to be in a car when you hear a real 2000 watt hit? Honestly, I like to be able to hear.Originally Posted by DROOPY209

yeah 2000w def. wont kill the car. i had my 2000w rockford amp going all day n night, with just a 1.5 farad power cap hooked up. no problems at all.

i just bought a 150 amp alternator, i just tried to install it but i couldnt get one of the bolts off and almost pulled a shoulder muscle lol
and i have no clue what is killing my battery, it doesnt die from the system, just having my doors open for more than 10 mins kills it too.
