    Default GSX meet 2.4

I finnally got some time this weekend to work on the car...everything's set and ready to throw in. (Still deciding whether or not to put the intake mani on before or after drop it in.) I'm gonna bolt up the tranny tomorrow and maybe have it hovering over if not set in the bay.

    Getting tired of this look....

I'm still throwing around the idea of installing it with the intake mani on or not. I think I'm gonna give it a try...

Yea, bolt up EVERYTHING to that engine before it goes in. hang the turbo, lines everything. then prime the oil pump with the engine out to check for leaks that way you dont find out later when its in the front cover is leaking.

So I did as King Dirty had suggested and found 0 leaks. I didn't really expect to find any seeing that I've done everything 2-3 times to make sure it was done right and dont live up to Dirty's stereotype of 2G owners. Well now I run into an interesting problem. So I put the timing belt back on (for the 3rd time) and when I go to rotate everything and the belt moves out at the crank sproket. It doesn't move out much maybe a mm (if that) and it only moves out at the crank not anywhere else. I took off the tensionor pully to see if there was a problem there and it didn't appear so. So I'm gonna look at everything again tonight and see if it may be the oil pump sproket. Maybe it came loose alittle when it was being rotated. Anybody else run into this? I did when when two or three of the teeth of the crank sprocket were knicked.

does the belt come off the gear 1mm?

check to see if all of your idler pulleys are tight, amd make sure to torque that oil pump nut with a bit of lock tight

did you remember to put the spacer or balance belt pulley behind the main gear

It only seems to slide off at the crank gear and barely any at all (probably less than 1mm) but it comes off none the less. It didn't do it when I put the belt on there initially.

My guess is that it's the oil pump gear nut like you said..its the only thing that I touched besides obviously idler pully. Oh yeah I have the BS gear and the plate so everything is set from there.

It's just one of those times where I have to step out of the garage and do something else to get a fresh idea on what may be wrong.

It's the GF's B-day today so it'll have to wait until we get back from centerfolds and RPM haha.....

    Different subject...

Anyone have any suggestions on where to take my suspension parts to have the old bushings pressed out and the new prothane in?
