    Default GST AWD conversion

I know someone did it on here. Did he do a write up on it? Or does anyone know of a write up on it?

I read a write up on automotivearticles.com. Is that the best way to do it? It seems like he cut into his frame more then I remember hearing you have to.

Just wondering because when I get back to the states the swap is priority on the mod list.

From my understanding, that article is the best way to do it. Even the ghetto writeup on Dsmtuners talks about the frame cutting process and is not as thorough. Talk with Savo (myAWDgst) since he did the swap, but I'm sure he'll tell you the same thing.

I wouldnt have to worry about smog since the car is registered in Utah.

Savo would you be able to tell me what you did instead of cutting the frame in the spots the article says you have to?

It would be hard for me to talk to you in person since Im in Okinawa heh.

Heck yeah...whenever you need some info let me know man. The best thing to do would be when you get rid of your GST rear end suspension and the whole interior it would be the best for me to show you how to do it..

Yea, getting an AWD parts car would probably be the most difficult thing to do, luckily Savo had some help with that! And its better talking to Savo in person, but still hard to understand him unless he talks Russian. Oh, and a good way to get him to help you on your car if you get the chance is to fix him some chocolate covered eggrolls- a russian delicacy. I was not there for the install, but on teardown everything was just unbolted save for a few spotwled that had to be drilled out. I don't know what the hell would have to be cut out?

Don't listen to Dan, while I had a whole drivetrain out including transmission he was still pounding sockets on the lug nuts...he was too busy using the hammer and distroing the body of a car. Then later on he overfilled the gas tank of my Jetta so the gas was all over my car and sidewalk, oh yeah and it was a 1 yr. old gas that was in the wrecked talon and my Jetta passed smog one week after that. :D And by the way I am not Russian I don't steal cars. :D
