    Default P0505 Idle Control System

My car keeps throwing a CEL and says the infamous P0505 Idle Control System. I have replaced the ISC 4 times with ISC's all within working specs. No matter what in a few weeks the CEL comes back on. Is there any other sensor/part that can throw up this problem. I HAVE to have it fixed asap because my SMOG is due and I will be selling the car. Any idea's or suggestions? About to take it to the stealership !!

After replacing 4 times with 4 different ISC's, I would think it might have something to do with wiring. I think in the Chilton I had, it explained how to use a volitmeter to check the resistance on the ISC, then you could also check the current on the plug side to make sure there isn't a short. I'm not sure what other sensor would throw that CEL code.

Good idea to check the current on the plug side. I will do that asap. Spanks Manny Fresh.

Change the BISS screw, and the TPS.

What is happenning is the ISC is going out of range trying to keep the car at the right RPM the ECU need it to be,
and on 2g's they don't have a idle switch like on 1g's the circut is in the TPS

    Does it "hunt" at idle???
