    Default Evo3 16g question

Alrighty folks, whats good? So here it goes, ive been asking aroudn about this big evo3 16g turbo and i need some more imput. Im going to have some parts money soon and the turbo is on my list but before i dive in i need to know a few things. If i do get this turbo, would i NEED to upgrade the fuel system(emphasis on the need seeing as ery body else doesn't read so closely on the other boards)? Also when i was looking at one on sale, they had options to have it ported and a bigger flapper swapped in but what does the bigger flapper do?

    Any help is awesome, thanks.

wow you must be real new to DSM's

No problem, but before I type what millions have before, just do a search
    16g,fuel injectors

    Thats a good start

here are some basics, stay under 16lbs of boost untill you get to know your car real well
before you do ANYTHING to make your car faster, get it running great in stock form, all fluids, belts, leaky gaskets and seals need to be adressed, a compression test, new plugs, wires, fuel filter all need to be replaced.
then put an exhaust system on it, at least 2.5" but not bigger than 3" for a street car
then a boost gauge and so on and so on

No, you can leave your mbc set at 10psi and you wouldn't need to upgrade anything.

The bigger flapper helps controll boost creep in some cases.

Heres the deal, im not entirely new to DSMs, my cousin has had two gs-t's and another one of my cousins is a mechanic so i do have some sources for info but heres the thing; I want as much opinions and input as possible before i do anything seeing as i like to do things right the first time. Im asking the question about the fuel system beacuse im not sure if i will have enough money for the turbo, the new clutch and flywheel i want, and the fuel stuff as well.

Right now im pushing 12psi currently due to the 1st gen bov, had my 60k service done a little while ago and everything is tip top aside from warped rotors and worn pads (previous owner abused the brakes a tad). I have a greddy 3inch catback on it and a injen intake.

I know where to start its just when it comes to doing something a little more dramatic to the performance is where i start to get real careful.

If you want to take advantage of the turbo then you will need the upgraded fuel setup. You don't HAVE to upgrade the fuel for a larger turbo but, you will never tap into the full potential of that turbo with a stock fuel set up. But you can drive it fine day to day and notice more horsepower with an upgraded turbo and the stock fuel.

yeah, i just set mine at 13 psi, stock system just rewired, noticed a good difference, but it was night and day over 5k rpm even at that low boost
