has anyone try to socket the chip by themself? im thinking of getting one and socket it in myslef.... would you guys recomend this?? but if it turns out that i need it profressionaly socketed . ill go that route too.

How's your soldering skills? You gotta be pretty much perfect, if any of the pins have too much solder and touch on the next set of pins you're screwed... I personally wouldn't do this, but if you have confidence in your ability to do some serious soldering, by all means, and once you're done with yours, lemme have a look at it, if it's good, I'll have you do mine :D j/p Actually, I'm going to go the DSMLink route, and they don't charge much for the socket service... but yea, if you think you can do it, go for it... just remember, if you screw anything up, there is a chance that you'll ruin your ECU (or you may just have to have someone fix the socket job)Originally Posted by lauj2gdsm
