Default how many psi should i boost?

just wondering what you guys think i will be able to boost maximum for the track on my new car? it's a 1993 eagle talon tsi fwd w/ 550cc injectors, evo3 big 16g turbo w/ 3" catback exhaust, manual boost controller, and a safc..there's a few other things but nothing mechanical just boost gauge, turbo timer, and oil catch can...

Are you tuned at all? Fuel Pump? FPR? I would not go above 20. If you have a logger use that. 18-20psi

yea i'm with THCue on this one. 18-20psi no higher. with those 550's and the 91 octane, you may find yourself running lean if you go any higher.

    but definitely get a logger

it's not tuned at all right now just has the safc installed, i'm getting a walbro 255lph high pressure fuel pump then i'll rewire it and probably get a fbr shortly after cause there's always some discussion going on about whether or not the stock one is ok to run w/ the upgraded fuel pump..as far as the logger could you be more specific..i know i have the safc but what's a logger? what are some of the brands of loggers? i just know my buddy said if it has an safc he has a wideband and we were going to hook it up to that and do a street tune.

on a side note...damn 18-20 psi?? i was only going to boost like 15-16 psi for the track and 8 psi for daily driver to conserve a little gas...but now i think i'll go 1 bar for the streets and 1.5 for the track. my buddy has a fmic on his 02 wrx but is going to sell it so i might pick that up off of him..

well now that you gave us some more infomation I'd say 16 lol. You need to get that tuned hitting 18-20 might get ya some Fuel cut problems. Also if you get a 255 make sure you get a FPR, if not just get a 190 fuel pump.

lol ok well i will be getting it tuned soon before i get the fuel pump and fbr so i'll just tune for 1 bar and about 8-9 psi for daily driver...then once i get the other fuel stuff i will bump it up to 1.5 bar so i won't have any fuel cut problems..i might be selling my 550's to a friend and getting 660's so we'll see

also which color wire do i connect the apex'i turbo timer to on the 02 sensor? it looks like the previous owner didn't hook that up so i am not getting any readings whatsoever on my a/f meter...i know they're not too accurate but they didn't hook it up for the safc either so i want to hook up that wire to my safc so i can get my a/f readings
