thats adjustable cam gears and theyre worthless for about 99.9% of the people out there. no one on this board needs them and thats a fact. if i were you i would attempt to do all your own modding an tuning. it will save you money and get you tons of p*ssy seriously though

right on thanks for replying i really wish i had a garage to work in but whats the deal with those gears they dont really work like that?
i thought of renting one of those personal storage units big enough to fit a car and have extra room left and than secretly working out of there until i either get caught or kicked out, they are like a hundred bucks a month to rent lol

I haven't played too many of those games but if it's changing out the actual tranny gears, you're not gonna want to mess with that on your car. If it's adjustable cam gears, you can add them with a set of aftermarket cams and pay someone to "index the cams" or make adjustments on a dyno and that will definitely yield a power band change and more peak power but installing them and using other peoples settings or the recommended settings on the box is a big fat waste of $250.

I think he's talking about changing the final drive ratio, like you can do in NFS:UG...

That is *possible* to the point of buying a new transmission with custom gears in it... but there really isn't a lot of offering's... if you had an older car with a front motor, rear drive configuration, you just change the gears in the rear end, but on a DSM, it might as well be impossible, cause it isn't going to be affordable.

what you're reffering to is not the adjustable cam gears. how do i know this? i've played those games :)
in the game you can change the length of the gears in the transmission allowing you shorter or longer gears.
you can do that in your car, but totally not worth it.

the GS-T's are said to have a longer setup already whereas the GSX is thought to have a shorter 1st and 2nd to get it off the line easier because of how heavy the car is. but don't quote me on that because i'm not sure how accurate that is.

we've put that whole thing to the test though. when i owned a GS-T i'd be running at less rpm's than a buddy's GSX on the highway. but it may have just been the setup of the cars. *shrug*

ah ok. this whole thing is the reason why i went rwd. i can swap out my gears if they dont do what i want. i run 3.50s right now but i might step up to 3.70s in the future when i get my new forged 100mm stroke crank.
